MOVIES4/20 Special: Legalize It!

If you don’t know what 420 is, consider yourself behind the understanding of the average 50-year old.
As Earth Day approaches, we celebrate today by smoking this terrific green earth. Unless you opt to vaporize… the new “healthier” way to get high.
The Boston holiday Patriots Day which is also “Marathon Monday” has two meanings this year. Usually, the running of the Boston Marathon provides a spectator sport which is a marathon of drinking. This year there should be a cloud over Boston as well, for a marathon of smoking. This year’s marathon coincides with 420 because the event is always on the Monday closest to April 18th, the anniversary of Paul Revere’s Ride. Imagine is Revere was high? He would’ve been all, “oh my god, I am freaking out… they are totally after us! Everyone! They’re coming for us!!!”
In such a strained economy, this 420 we need to think about an important subject this country and its people need: the legalization of marijuana.
At least forty-five years overdue, we cannot quietly wait for California to secede from the states in order to capitalize on their crop to get themselves out of bankruptcy. Together, as a collection of fifty states and DC and Puerto Rico, the U.S. needs to legalize the green for the following reasons:
1. Create jobs in a struggling economy
2. Raise tax revenue, see cigarette sales for more information
3. Clean up the crop, no more bad baggies with the government monitoring quality control
4. Stop funding terrorism, buy American
5. Give those farmers something to push besides corn
6. Free jail space for real criminals
7. Free DEA time for real drugs
8. Enjoy medical advantages such as pain relief and combating loss of appetite
9. Make reality TV entertaining
10. Stimulate another musical and artistic revolution
And, with help of the vaporizer, nursing homes everywhere can become a positive retirement community experience, instead of a jail for the elderly.
Can that ageist crap about “even a 50 year old….”
