Great Moments in Comedy History

From tragedy to triumph-this is the story of Helen Keller and her life! A child raised in darkness and silence, Keller overcame adversity to become one of the great role models of all time. But did you know she was also involved in one of the most sidesplitting, gut-wrenching moments in comedy history?

Helen Keller was a child in darkness who discovered a new world through the eyes and ears of others. It’s also known that she often enjoyed frolicking in the forest. On one of these excursions, and after a recent electrical storm, a large oak tree had fallen over. Surprisingly it did not make a sound. Neither did Helen. Both events were noted by no one. A few minutes later, another tree fell, this timelanding Helen Keller. Surprisingly, she did make a sound.
“Get this motherf*cking big oak tree off of me!” she screamed.
Sadly, no one heard her cries and within days her squirming body was ravaged by large rats and other woodland creatures. The Helen Keller who we know from history books and lived to the ripe age of 88 was actually a very realistic-looking android developed by Thomas Alva Edison, who used it as his big practical joke on the world. The Helen Keller android later went on to spell with her fingers and traveled the world telling people about it. Not too shabby!
Three cheers for Helen Keller! Not only did she prove that if a tree falls in the forest, she would make a sound, but also for her strong contributions to comedy history!
