Valentine’s Day is undoubtedly Cupid’s busiest day of the year. The be-diapered archer can only be in so many places on the same date to spread the romance. Between intimate dinners and desperate singles dances, sometimes he has to be quite selective with where he spreads the spirit of St. Valentine on his special day. Most people would forgive him for deciding to skip over sporting venues on February 14th in favor of letting the kiss cam do all the work, but one sad New York Ranger rooter was feeling the lack of his presence after he learned the hard way that sharing the love of a game doesn’t necessarily mean sharing love in general. In the ultimate public display of affection, this blueshirt fan tried to make an honest woman of his game date, only to be brutally rebuffed on the big screen in front of the entire crowd and the viewers at home.
Let this be a lesson to you; not all fairy tales have happy endings. Or maybe the lesson is that women would prefer that you don’t propose to them at a sporting event.
